Film Alliance NotesHello all. Just about the time we think it’s okay to go outside and start filming, it starts to rain again. Oh well, springtime in the Inland Northwest!

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, our May General Membership Meeting has been cancelled. We will be back to normal operation in June. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The Board has been discussing a long term solution for our financial situation in regards to our 501c3 nonprofit status. It is likely that we will have to give up our nonprofit status. This action will relieve us of the financial burdens that are required of a 501c3 . We will still continue as an organization. As an organization, we are still a very valuable place to network and connect with others. We will still continue to promote support and education of the film, video and entertainment (music, live theater, etc.) industry. Our special interest groups will continue as they are. Specifics on what will change are going to be discussed at our next meeting in June.

Please check out, follow, and “like” our Facebook page, John Gessner has volunteered to try and put some life into it. If you have anything you would like to share, please send it to John.

Congrats to Steve Wyttree on getting his short, “Lily’s Special Valentine” into the Dances with Film Festival in Los Angeles. This short is also scheduled to be included in a Seattle and Sandpoint Festival. The film as been reedited since it’s premiere last February. We will be showing the updated version in one of our updated meetings.

On September 29th 2018, Larry Telles will be putting on a presentation at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center. The presentation is called “Where Movies Came From!” Film will be shown on a 16mm projector with live music accompaniment from a local talented pianist. Program will run 2 hours. More details will follow as the event gets closer.
