Film Alliance NW is dedicated to providing an open forum for all Inland Northwest film, video, media, and live entertainment professionals, amateurs, and enthusiasts in an effort to promote knowledge, education, workforce training, and networking.

Film Alliance NW is a network of congenial people whose many diverse interests converge in the film industry. Together, we play a pivotal role in growing a vibrant industry.

Special Interest Groups


Special Interest Groups or SIGs

Production-SIG-cropFor members interested in learning about film making or desiring hands-on experience, we offer three Special Interest Groups (SIGS):

Screenwriting SIG
Production SIG
Acting SIG

Our SIGS are small informal groups that get together to share information, projects, knowledge, and encouragement. They meet on a schedule determined upon by those attending. Cost for attending the workshop is $5.00, but free to members and their first-time guests (unless otherwise noted).

Each SIG includes seasoned professionals who generously share their expertise and those who are new to the craft. By joining one of our SIGS you’ll find an opportunity to:

  • Discover your strengths
  • Learn about every aspect of filming
  • Gain an understanding about the role of directors, producers, actors, writers, songwriters, cameramen, sound mixers, lighting, and grips
  • Participate in Film Alliance NW productions

The Film Alliance NW Actors Work Force Training group offers opportunities for training and connecting with other actors. As a “SIG” Segmented Interest group we promote networking and the idea that “we don’t know it all” but what we do know we are willing to share to help others succeed.

•We are open to new ideas and volunteers who would like to organize and coordinate more events.

Our SIG group helps to enhance the filming community by networking with current community training and trainers. Each meetings will have a topic of interest to the acting community some of these are: auditioning, cold reads, monologues, Voice over, head shots, resumes, costuming & Make up. The Film Alliance NW Screenwriting SIG meetings meets monthly to discuss screenwriting tips and techniques, marketing ideas, and the latest screenwriting news. We tailor our meetings to meet the needs of our members, often doing table reads or addressing member concerns. We offer encouragement, advice, and support for screenwriters at all levels of expertise.
