Meet the Film Alliance Board Members
A writer, producer and film historian, Larry is one of the founding members of the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum in Niles, California. His position on the museum board is webmaster and film historian. Larry also served as past president of the Idaho Writers League, Coeur d’Alene Chapter.
His first book, A Brief History of the Silent Screen and the World at that Time, is built around the film world. Larry produced a companion DVD for this book, Helen Gibson: Silent Serial Queen. A look into the role that one woman played in the history of film. The DVD contains six of Helen Gibson’s surviving silent films.
Larry’s interest in silent films sparked at age fifteen in 1952 when silent films aired on television each evenings till 9 pm. His grandmother noticed his interest and gave him Blum’s book, A Pictorial History of the Silent Screen. Larry was hooked from that day on, collecting all types of memorabilia from cliffhanger serials to “B” Westerns. When not writing or working with video, Larry can be found talking to the world via amateur radio.
Steve Wyttree is the owner of White Tree Productions Film and Training Center in Coeur d’? Alene Idaho. He runs a film and arts studio as well as training center. He is now currently working on putting together various film projects including a full feature film.
Steve is proficient in many of the arts including photography, Singer and songwriting , script writing, cinematography and film editing, public speaking and training. Steve is quality driven in everything he does and aims to bring out the quality in everyone he works with.
Anna Goodwin is a psychotherapist and lecturer turned writer and professional speaker. Anna applies her extensive knowledge and experience with those suffering from trauma and stress in her highly acclaimed book, “How to Cope with Stress After a Trauma: Especially for Veterans, their Families, and Friends.”
Anna graduated from the University of Maryland with a Master of Science degree in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. She practiced in the field for over twenty-five years, and now lives in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Marketing and Fundraising Director
Now retired, Mari has a long history of fund raising, event planning and public relations experience. She has done work with the Houston Grand Opera and The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation while in Texas.
She has owned her own business both in California and Washington. In California she was co-founder of The Southern California Classic Film Festival , which was designed to honor films made at the old movie ranches in the Simi Valley area. In Washington, most of her work was with Columbia Winery.
Gary A. Edwards
Since 1956, Gary has performed in bands of all sizes from single to symphony and many styles from opera to rock and country; to classical, choral and musical theatre. He has written six musicals, an opera, two concertos, three screenplays, a TV sit-com and hundreds of pieces of music. He has worked for years as a composer, videographer, editor and Spanish translator for CMTV Community Minded Television.
Gary has received three grants from ASCAP recognizing his composing contributions. He has published fourteen books and dozens of articles in magazines. His books, music CDS and videos are available on Amazon.com.
Membership Director, Treasurer
Born and raised in sunny California, Kimberlynn worked as a Firefighter/EMT in the Seattle for 8 years then gave it all up for a career as an Air Traffic Controller in Denver CO for the next 20 years. Happy to be back in the Northwest – this time in the dryer part of the state, Kimberlynn decided to get into acting and film for some retirement fun. She is also interested in film makeup and costumes. Kimberlynn is currently our membership director and treasurer for Film Alliance NW.
Mike Bowcutt is serving on our Board as Administration Director. He assists in coordination of events and classes; film alliance publications, documents and handouts; and information emails to our members.
Mike served 22 years in the US Navy from 1970 -1992, moving to Spokane in Oct 1992. He worked various jobs until 1996 and started a business as “Spokane Coffee Appliance Repair Inc”. His business eventually evolved into restaurant maintenance, repair, and home appliances, and he became a maintenance electrician and gas mechanic. He started a second business in 2005 – “Alcohol Breathalyzers for Fun”.
Mike served as Commander VFW post 1474 and American Legion Post 241. After retiring, he took up photography and video editing. He is excited to be a part of Film Alliance Northwest.
Past President and Founding Board Member
W. J. began his career as a cinematographer for independent features in Los Angeles, he then worked as Director of Photography for the world’s largest advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi. He formed Lazerus Communications 25 years ago and since then he has been a Producer, Line-Producer, Director, Writer and DP for hundreds of productions.
He worked independently on projects for MTV, ABC, CBS, Propaganda Films and ESPN. His most recent projects include: DP for the second season of the TVOne series “Life After,” Writer and Line Producer for PBS award-winning special “WWII and the Mississippi Experience,” Line-Producer and Second Unit Director for the award-winning film “Teenage Dirtbag,” DP for Great Director’s Best Buy web series with Tim Burton, Martin Scorcese, etc,. DP for “Essence Festival” the top rated program in TVOne’s history, Director, Line-Producer and DP for SpikeTV’s World’s Sexiest Bartenders, DP for Showtime pilot “Wakeup Call,” as well as hundreds of marketing, training, viral and informational videos for Fortune 500 companies.
